As a Futsal and Education Scholar with one of our professional club partners, your academic progression is taken as seriously as your sporting development.
Futsal Scholars should expect to study a Level 3 programme based on the GCSE results they have gained.
Level 3 Scholarships
Entry requirements: 4 GCSE’s or equivalent at C grade or above, preferably including English & Maths
Length of programme: 2 Years
Exit routes:
- Further study at University
- Employment in the sports and active leisure sector, such as futsal referee, futsal arena staff, etc
- Professional club community coach
- Professional futsal player
What you will study
- Level 3 BTEC National Extended Diploma in Sport – worth up to 3 A Levels, and allows entrance to University
- The beginners guide to coaching futsal
- L1 Futsal Coach – if applicable
- L1 Futsal referee
The Academic qualification of the BTEC National Extended Diploma is made up of a series of units. You will cover:
Year 1:
- Principles of Anatomy & Physiology
- The Physiology of Fitness
- Assessing Risk in Sport
- Fitness Testing for Sport & Exercise
- Fitness Training for Sport & Exercise
- Sport Nutrition
- Psychology for Sports Performance (Equivalent to 1 A Level)
- Technical & Tactical Skills in Sport
- The Athlete’s Lifestyle
Year 2:
- Sports Coaching
- Current Issues in Sport
- Exercise, Health & Lifestyle
- Instructing Physical Activity & Exercise (Equivalent to 2 A levels)
- Analysis of Sports Performance
- Talent Identification & Development in Sport
- Sports Injuries
- Work Experience in Sport
- Rules, Regulations & Officiating in Sport
- Sport as a Business
